On the third afternoon, when the stranger appeared outside Seventh Public School, Yike was in the implements classroom taking apart an old balance wing.

The balance wing belonged to the school's communal equipment chest. Its left connecting rod was bent, and Lin Qi had intended to send it to the scrap-sorting area. Han Yu insisted it could still fly if they readjusted its load-bearing angle, so the implements teacher gave him one class period to prove it.
